Hyaluronic acid is considered a hygroscopic substance; these are characterized by maintaining the skin layers in optimal elasticity and flexibility, thanks to its appropriate water content. Hyaluronic acid is one of the most powerful humectants, acts as a sponge for attracting and retaining water, and increasing the absorption capacity of the skin, which due to its polymeric structure presented. Their addition is recommended in cosmetic formulations of 3-15%.
